AHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHHA **** THE POLICE. Just got the letter back from Superior Court of ****ing County of Santa Clara. AHAHAHAH had a crappy day but this brought a big smile on my face when i got home.

you gotta pay to play. dont hate on the cops for doing their job. if you're going to be breaking the law cover yourself and own up to it. otherwise you're just making yourself look real ignorant.

sucks for you. cant hate someone for doing their jobs though. its not like you dont know the speed limit. i got tagged going 83 in a 55 and was still eligible for traffic school. the CHP officer was real nice and even suggested that i try and plead it down.

If radar is used, another tactic is to make the officer prove that the use of radar was not an illegal speed trap, requiring the officer to submit a copy of a current (within 5 years) engineering and traffic survey for the road.
Basic Speed Law
22350. No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic on, and the surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.

So basically you are saying that the speed i was traveling was OK for the current road conditions at the time of the ticket. Which is what i contested. Which the Judge agreed on. Great, glad we got that all figured out.

If only it was that easy. When I fought my ticket, the cop said he had no idea how to tune the radar gun himself, didn't have any paperwork of when the gun was last calibrated, and according to the traffic survey with the number of cars and pedestrians I was going a safe speed, yet the ticket was still upheld.

I recently received a speeding ticket, 80 in a 65. It hasn't been processed yet, so I don't know how much it'll be.
Few questions though:
1. Other than the OP, how successful are people with the written declaration in Santa Clara county?
2. Any good websites on how to go about fighting the ticket? (I've read ticket assassin.)
3. If you lose, can you still take traffic school?

There is alot of disrepect in here. I thought for a second I logged in to a Honda forum from 2002 or dsm tuners from 2004.
