I saw a 08/09 STi (silver) on mendo on wednesday around 5pm. Not sure who owns it or if they are on the forums.
I also saw an 08/09 wrx on 101 heading north in novato tried slowing on the bike and gave a thumbs up but the guy just had a weird look on his face so I laughed at him for having a ugly car and took off

hope this helps...
"From what I've "heard". The codes you are getting are because of the speed of the crank, and the timing of the rest of the motor. In the sti and in the wrx overseas they use a form of VVT... our WRX does not. The sensor knows how fast the crank should be going, so if you lighten the crank with too light a flywheel 9lb or so... or a say...14lbs flywheel and a 1 lb pulley you will get the the same result. The only solution is to get a steel slightly heavier flywheel. Or if you have the flywheel pulley situation, try just swapping out the pulley first."
I get the codes all the time and it's a pain in the **** always having to clear them with the AP.

Some old guy who looked exactly like the guy from the Marine World Commercials was driving what appeared to be a completely stock Gray 05' STI in Napa at the Trader Joe's. He almost ran me down in the parking lot doing at least 30, was quite surprising to see someone who looked like 70 driving that...
