The Vallejo event is July 28th (at the fairgrounds I think). Not much info online yet, but should be here when available:

Also another FRX event at Antioch is scheduled for June 24th.

I love to bring up the Hoopa Hillclimb, so much fun so few entrants. The last few years has seen only 30-35 people for 2 days of racing up a 2.2 mile highway that averages 11% grade, not that it isn't fast. My STi was in 5th gear on what I call the "straight" section and Z06 corvettes are in 4th gear.

Now for the bad news, for some it does require some time under your belt to participate, since the potential for getting hurt goes up, uhhh an STi in 5th gear on a narrow 2 lane road going up a mountain. Not that you can't talk to the folks in charge and see if you have the requirements to play, that's why I mentioned it here.

You can find more info by doing a search for "hoopa hillclimb" and by visiting the website for the club that hosts the event.

i didnt really feel like searching at this time, so a quick question

the hillclimb is a road course (no dirt)? do they close the road for the event or is it still open to traffic?

they close the road of course, its timed and everything. i want to do it so bad.

Youtube has a Subydude Suby doing it and a SC'd CRX only 2 videos ive ever seen.

2.2 miles hairpins and stuff, i want to know if its smooth or not and what i have to do to get it, cuz im not about to do a track day to enter it

hillclimbs start from the bottom, then when everyone's at the top they all follow eachother down i assume. search hillclimbs in youtube. the UK has some cool ones...in other words, any country except USA has cool ones.

cant wait for the rallyX!

Yes, it's a paved 2 lane highway. You can also search for "nha" northwest hillclimb association. There are about 7-8 hillclimbs iin Idaho Oregon and Montana.

The biggest factor for hoopa is the crown in the road.

Back to rallycross, 57 signed up for this weekend, may 6th has plenty of openings, and it's the following weekend, let the fun continue.

signups for may 6th rallycross is at www.myautoevents.com

create an account
then select rallycross events on the left side of screen
Select CSCC RallyXII register online

One thing I was just thinking about out at the event site. What other form of motorsports would allow you to go out and get good ol fashion seat time for
$5.00 a day. Thank you Priarie City OHV SVRA Park and the state of California.

ooooooohhhhh man that sounds sexy, but kinda far for a hill ive gotta do hoopa.

if i bring footage of me on a mtn road would they accept me? i dont want to drive up there and be turned down on the spot.

...which got me thinking...if they let people hillclimb at 80 mph next to a cliff, then whats stopping us from having crests and dips in a rallyX? i know its early especially for prarie city, but if your allowed to, i'll donate my time and get behind the tractor for a weekend.

damn a hillclimb looks hella fun, searched wrx hillclimb on youtube and watched one of an rhd gc sti doing one, intense but fun

dont think my rs has enough torque to pull that off though, kinda takes awhile to accelerate going uphill

salvator, as for torque, I ran 2 years ago in a 1.3 litre 100 hp 83 ft/lbs. torque fwd car. So you wouldn't have to worry about not enough torque.

kyle what forms of racing, and how long, have you done up to now? You actually have to preregister for Hoopa. Those people are who you want to talk to about qualifications. I'm talking to them now about using myautoevents for registration.

The fee to get into Prairie City is only $5.00 just to go play, not for an organized event. The funny thing is we will have rights to the entire 4X4 area for this weekend, whole lotta space, and we're only using the east end. But future possibilities could include more if we're lucky.

crests and dips tend to factor in too much potential for problems. Throw a rollcage in your car, because if this works out well, I'll try to eventually plan a rallysprint, essentially a higher speed rallycross, the whole 4X4 area would work perfect. Imagine a single run taking 4-5 minutes.

I'll be there for both, but trying to enter the May 6th event if I can get my suspension setup in time on my white car.

A few of us set up a test track on some private land a few years back and it was a 4-5 minute course - and not a leisurely 4-5 minutes either. At SFR events our course time was always restricted by land area - we almost got a much larger area at Thunderhill a couple years back for some long tracks but land use permits got in the way.

Hey Ed, so how are you going to get both the MR2 and the WRX out there (saw you were entered in both).

put the mr2 in the trunk

would 5 or so AutoXs in various cars and 3 RallyXs qualify me for Hoopa? no track days yet.
not to mention i live in the middle of 20% grade mtn twisty paradise and commute it a few times a week. i mustve done one 20% grade road, about 4 minutes long, super technical no room for error road about 500 times now.

think i should post a video of it so the people in charge could see it? i really want to do this. thanks
