Anyways, I don't want to settle for a Civic or Corolla, so...someone help me out, I cannot think of one new car under 20k thats RWD.
i've seen new 350z base models go as low as 24k around here. i'm sure if you shopped a few years old you could find one for close to 20.

lol thanks for the replies, its hard, and i would want a rwd so if i decide to paly around a little in a wet parking lot..i could. i drive a 93 corolla with 160k miles on it, so yeah..and the thing is.. im like 17..turning 18 in april, and if i do get a new car..its gonna be from my parents..and if its from my parents..that means no used, and no american cars, and its gonna have to be under 20, i thikn the 2.5RS would be my best bet. and my friends and i were talking about how arent any good rwd we can get tahts new...cuz we both drive FF and we were doing 180s and stuff in the parking lot, empty of course, and it was for his AP physics project..hes a smart guy, and my other friend was in the passenger seat with his little laptop and equipment...so we're not just doing this for kicks, even though it was fun.

why not used?

I don't see the sense of settling for a non-optimal new RWD car, when you can get an USED RWD car for way under $20K, like a 2000 SVT Cobra, BMW M Coupe, or Lexus IS300.

Personally though, I'd vote for a USED WRX.

Your best bets: used S2000 , MR2 Spyder, Corvette C4 or early-year C5, Boxster early-year, Miata, Mustang, Camaro, Pontiacs I believe have RWD in some...and of course the infamous 240sx which would be my pick as it's cheap enough used that you can buy the parts you want to make it nice and fast and handle well

i would too, i wouldnt mind a crappy *** 88 rx-7 na or a 1500 dollar 87 mr2 but my parents are all like "i dont want to spend more money fixing it than you driving it" blah blah, im thikning about getting a job over the summer to make some money..but finding a job isnt that easy.

and sorry about my grammar..if i tried really really really hard i probably could have an easier to read paragraph, but...im lazy, lol.

i wanted to do a valet parking job but all the places require you to know how to drive stick well, i learned once, but i cant do it well, and i want to make money to buy my own stick car...so..it kinda sucks

Used VW Beetle. RWD, and he's least likely to hurt himself in someone that barely goes 80mph, downhill with a tail wind.

Edit: practice is the only way to learn to drive stick. If you get a car that's a stick, once you understand the basics, the more you drive it, the better you'll get. I got my first manual tranny car before I knew how to drive it. Wouldn't your parents buy you a car that's got a manual tranny?

if i could buy a used car, i wouldve gone with a 2.5RS 98-01, but..no used cars =(. grr so many options out there if i could buy a used car, i think ill just use my own money instead of getting a crappy new corolla or civic that ill hate. btw im ..uh..asian and stuff...i dont wanna cruise around in a beetle, lol, i hope you guys understand what i mean..

If you don't know how to drive manual transmission, it's not worth getting a RWD car. You won't be upping your skills with an automatic. Just get an old manual transmission car and learn.

Tell them stick is cheaper. Cheap penny pinching Chinese always fall for that.

Why do you think my cars are manual?
