So even the "on topic" threads have other places they really belong.

This proposal just seems like administrative masturbation to me
ya but those threads are more directed at BAICers not the general community, which is why i posted them as "on topic" if those are considered off topic for BAIC, then ya i agree... I have no idea what the hell is suppose to be in this section, same goes for SRIC also

If there is an OT section then there shouldn't be a meets section.

If the OT section is added then the regular BAIC section will be filled with just darkonions auto x threads and stiylins clutch threads

Im kinda lost, isnt the BAIC forum basically just a OT forum for BAIC people? There is already a dedicated meets section, if there is a OT section too, what exactly will be in the actual BAIC forum?

Talk about bay area stuff?

Yeah who ever thought threads about working on Subaru's might be applicable. Especially a job more than 80% of users will never attempt do to difficulty. We are not all rich from Mom and Dad and some can't afford to have a shop do everything.

No one helps in the "on topic" threads in the technical section. Seriously.

Problem I see is with non Subaru owners on here *****ing endlessly about what Subaru owners post.

I won't even bring up some vendors misuse of the Members Gallery for advertisement for wheels. Oh wait.

Not everyone reads the Classifieds in the BAIC but the will read them in the BAIC itself.

That was the first time I did that.

Example: I needed tires for the SD track day. I had months. I posted in the NorCal classifieds.

OK...let me explain a little more.

Perfect example of BAIC OT...Xing Loa Loa

Threads like this are a specific inside thing to BAIC that has no discussion value. There are many threads in this section that are completely OT and if you look a t a listing of the forums, it can be hard to find normal threads.

I do agree that meets are a normal thing to talk about in a regional and should probably be brought back into the main section. Look at other regional sections, especially on other sites and you will see a flow of normal on topic regionally relevant threads. Discussions such as where to find something locally, meets, regional information and requests (this could be lots of things).

As with anything, we would test it out and see how it works. No changes are irreversible. I would personally much rather the meets not be a subsection as they are far more relevant topics
