New BAIC Off Topic section coming

Due to the large number of off topic threads in this section, we are going to try out a BAIC OT subsection. ALL OT threads that are relevant only to the BAIC should go in this new section. All non BAIC specific OT threads should go in random thoughts. The new section will be up in the next couple days

it's not like BAIC gets 239482308234 threads a day that you need to sort it out. I can be gone all day and catch up to every BAIC thread in minutes.....

Well... technically DarkOnion, but 5 letters is a little too many. I like to keep things simple and easy. Actually, I am just lazy.

This makes no sense...

This BAIC forum is for the BAY to talk on topic or off topic. What is the topic? Oh yes, Impreza's. Well, there are Tech forums, and classified forums, and Maintenance forums already... but WE (The BAIC) are a tyte-niche group who enjoy discussing topics of our LO-CAL, in NOR-CAL. Thus the BAIC is born.

If we wanted to post in off-topic for the entire community to see, we would. I save my pr0n, jokes, videos, pics, banter for my Subie crew in the Bay.

I don't mind another section. Yes, its an extra click and another scroll that we users would have to do. But if it saves time and energy from the Mods, thats fine.

The problem is as stated above though, what is Off-Topic and what is On-Topic. There would be no point to a separation of sections if us users don't know how to exercise it and could end up giving the Mods even more work.

So true, so I have to ask, what would be left in here?

We have a separate forum for meets and events, we have a separate forum for classifieds, Then there are all of the others- general, technical, motorsports, other models, vendors... it seems there is a "proper" forum for just about every possible post.....so this really does not make a heck of a lot of sense.

I'd like to see some examples of threads posted here that do not have a more correct place to be- the BAIC "ON" topic threads if such a thread has ever existed-

...anyone?

"Flashed to stage 1" should be in tech forum/powertrain
"Need a turbo coolant res..." same^^
"How much for an STI Salvage..." should be in general/suby shopping
"auto-x..." and the dozen or so Mt Hami threads should be in meets and events.

and so on...

So even the "on topic" threads have other places they really belong.

This proposal just seems like administrative masturbation to me
