The "NEW" 2009 STI, some great info to read
#17
the more power you start with the more power you can end up with. I would take a 400hp stock sti over a 300hp stock sti. Sure you mod the 300hp sti to get 400hp but why not just start with more powe? Also the more power a car has stock the more hp you can gain from simple mods. Take a c5 vette, give her a RAI, headers, catback, and a tune are you are close to 100whp more the stock

Starting from the factory with higher power means parts are stressed more from the get go. Which sometimes shortens engine life and or doesnt allow for much in gains.
Subaru would have to get allot done to build a car at that level and make it smog legal in cali. 3.0 turbo..

Car Info: ...zeh car drives you!
Why do I feel the STi will go the way of the BMW M-series cars? They gonna become big, fat, lazy, expensive (difficult to modify) grand tourers instead of the quick nimble rockets they once were...All for the sake of attracting a bigger target market while utterly alienating its loyal core customers and fans that defined the brand.

09 is going to be the same model. We all know subaru messed up with the new sti at least imo because they didn't take it down that path it had come from. I actually think weight of the 08 is only about 60lbs more than 06/07.
Sti should get up to 380 imo.................time to step the game up before the car is just a regular old smuck.
stop changing the exterior of subarus until you fix the ****ing paint!!!!!!!!!
cheap bastids
oh yea, and making it so people have to pay 10 grand more regardless of the reason for the increase coupled with the fact the bbs are gone, the intercooler lettering gone (just slightly less finished)...............
so why didn't the sti get cheaper instead of more expensive?

because they refined the interior. More sound deadening. More of the crap they think people want but didn't realize that the people that want that are buying bmw and audi.
The paint will never be fixed. Modern paint sucks period. Try and find a company that people aren't complaining about paint. It's all shot in one process now and is layed on super thin.
