The one we use at the shop now is an Acer i3 with 2 or 4 gigs of ram. It was 350 at frys. Only had internet attached to it once to download the updated security/service packs, Java and RossTech. Never had a single BSOD or any other issue with it.

My suggestion browse with the mac and use the tuning one strictly for tuning w/ no internet.

on topic but not really. anyone deal with Google's chrome books? I have my desktop at home which I use mainly. I just want something to browse around when at my girlfriends house or school. since I use drive for all my writing purposes anyways
