Needed a new paint job, my 3 day project!
I got in an accident in the beginning of November. I was devastated. Drove around with a black primered hood until recently Honestly I didn't wanna have a body shop match the color as the factory paint was horrid to begin with. Well this gave me an excuse to do a make over

Btw, I'm no pro, I just have an idea of what is SUPPOSED to be done LOL my pops on the other hand has sprayed maybe 1 or 2 of his cars in his life. Safe to say were both novices when it comes to a big project like this. On the other hand we both know how to paint(he's been a licensed contractor/painter for 35 years, and I've been a helper for him and a DIYer for about 10 years now).
First step, sanding and prepping a good surface for the paint to stick:
Oh and a little teaser of our restoration. 71 240Z
Second step, setup a booth to spray in:
Third step, mask off areas I don't think I want auto paint to be on
Fourth step, start spraying
One coat in!
Getting better!
Don't even ask about the door jams for another few weeks
Wish I could have kept the flat look
Safe to say the parts hanger didn't work out as well as we planned LOL
And after 3 days of work, I'm happy! There are some screw ups but why the **** would I show everyone....
Besides time, total cost was around $250 including gas for the drive up to my folks house near Bear Valley.
Appointments available next week!

Of course but I did flirt with the idea of a matte finish and after talking to a member on here I changed my mind. He has a matte white and said it is difficult task to clean the thing.
You gave up on what?! You went thru all the sanding and didn't wanna finish?! COME ON!!
Wanna make it rain at my credit union?

lol matte white is a very difficult to keep clean , my friend did what you did but he put a widebody kit on his evo then masked a paint room off and painted it all himself. Car looks really good but its a ***** to keep clean haha.

Nah, didn't wanna bother. Hit the whole car with 220 and then 280. Looking back I wish I also went somewhere around 400 also but oh well.
I'll call you today once I get back in town! I'll have those wheels for you!
Where'd you get your paint sourced? I've been looking at your white for a couple months and I tried to get something similiar. But thanks brotha!
Not only that you can't use car wash with wax in it or any product with any type of wax otherwise itll look like it got cleared
