Need some expert opinion on Older subies or what would you get for $2000?

Hey all, how are the older subarus in terms of reliability? ie, the loyale with 1.8?

My girlfriend is looking to buy a car for around $2000. Any other recommendations? Looking for a car that have decent amount of cargo room(ie vans/suv's/wagons)

cars currently I am considering is a Jeep, or a Subaru wagon, or a small truck.

Just saw a '96 wagon for $2600... could talk them down to under $2000 I bet, it had 200,000 miles and some dents/dings/etc.

Here's one...

Spend the extra $500 you save on a used set of Rotas with tires.

LOL, thanks, OMG

"This vehicle was owned by a older Asian couple for years. The interior is in excellent condition(museum quality) I think they took there shoes off before they got in? ha ha it is clean though"

On the ad.

Seriously, how's the reliability on these 1.8 blocks? anyone had any experience? 170k a little high?

I also want to make sure I understand the product map of subies back in the day...loyale is the predecessor of imprezas? Is it much smaller than the legacy?
