I've done two and both of them took me about 30 minutes. Reading FTL.

Best place EVER. Done in about half an hour, and will verify your identity ONLINE (Alameda). Cheap too.

I got a traffic ticket in Oakland on 10/22 (stop sign violation) and need to do traffic school. I still have not received a courtesy notice and now I'm one day late past the date on the bottom of the ticket... am I in trouble?

This is just a warning, as of 2009, certain county's have designated online driver's education sites. Only the sites that are posted on their addendum will be counted as valid. I paid a site that wasn't verified and it ended up being a waste of money (i had to retake it through the "sanctioned" site)

That is all.

This is true. If you got the ticket in Santa Clara County you have to take an online course from one of their approved sites. When I got a ticket they only had one and it sucked. The website had timers on each page and you couldn't skip to the end. Plus you had to take the final test in person at a testing station.

Yup, I had to do Santa Clara traffic school in March '09, and this was still the case. However, they have got rid of the moderated test - the final test is now on the same web site.

wifi + laptop + DVDs + beer make it go a lot faster.

Call or visit the court ASAP - I think there should be a phone number on the ticket. Ask what to do. It may be that the ticket is still in process, or maybe they didn't get the courtesy notice out in time. Either way, its better to ask than get popped by a LEO who then finds a FTA on your record.
