I think you have to live/work in Santa Clara County to be able to join, also.
Forgot about that part, but now that you mention it, you are right.

Also, for the ATM's, kinda my fault as well, I should memorize a few places around, but I use cash so infrequently, that I never bother. Plus, I get cash back from Trader Joe's or Safeway usually for when I need it.

flukewrx, exactly right! only transaction that counted against "Reg D" was the last one done, which was "online".

addressing some of the other questions brought up:

Who's eligible to join Tech CU?
  • Membership is open to people who live, work or worship in the following counties: San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Contra Costa and San Francisco
How can I access my money?
  • Tech CU participates in the CU Service Center (aka "Shared Branch" network, where you can access your Tech CU account at sister credit unions) and Co-Op ATM network.
Nationwide, Tech CU members can also access their money at over 65,000 ATMs, including at 7-11's (mainland), Target, Costco locations, and ExxonMobil stations...all with NO surcharge.
  • Tech CU also has an iPhone app to locate your nearest surcharge-free ATM.
  • Locater here: http://www.techcu.com/resources/locations/
any more questions, let me know...

Been at bank of america for several years now. Still haven't been charged any fees. So far so good. Their new ATM's are nice. I can't complain.
