Need mapquest verification on the bay area

Mapquest tells me that from San Jose to Martinez would take 1hr.
From San Jose to Union city 26min.

Are these figures a good guess?

so there is no range of time i could depend on? If there is an accident there is not ETA. But a general day to day ETA is all i need, really.

1 hour seems about right to SJ, but the 26 minutes to UC might be alittle off. I'm guessing it would take alittle longer, not much though. Although SJ is a ways past UC. Again, it depends what end you are starting and finishing at and which freeways you choose to take.

from SJ to Martinez "counter commute" probably isn't too bad, but last week it took me nearly 2 hours from Berkeley to Santa Clara during morning commute.

I don't know how people do it, I'd go postal if I had to suffer through that ordeal every day

If I take the 101 from Petaluma to San Rafael, I have to leave by 6:30 a.m. in order to make it by 8 a.m.

Fortunately, there are back roads (Wilson Hill Rd, Hicks Valley, Red Hill, Nicasio Valley, Lucas Valley) which provide much more entertainment for my commuting dollar.

i think it would probably go by using those signs that post a speed limit.

from San Jose you could hit Martinez ONLY if there was no traffic and you were going 75mph+

I go from Union City to SJSU 2-3 times a week, and trust me, no traffic, I can get to SJ in 25mins easy.

Problem is, there is heavy traffic 98% of the time.

I used to commute from union city to concord everyday and the commute time was 45 minutes to 1 hour.

if that helps at all. I know traffic isn't much from sunol on, not sure how it is on northbound 680 up through fremont though.

I commute from UC to Walnut Creek and during rush hour it takes anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hrs, but I hit 84 through Niles to 680 to avoid the 880/238 traffic. Off commute it only takes 45 min but I can't promise that is at the speed limit The traffic doesn't really get bad until the Sycamore Valley exit on 680.

whoa, I did the commute from union city to concord (242 @ hwy 4) for a year and the worst it ever took with lots of traffic was one hour 10 minutes. Average time was 45-50 minutes. off commute it only takes me 40 minutes
