The word is "food" or "grain", depending on the context according to my wife, and might be meant to be "staple food"
she also said 'what is this nonsense...?' :-)

trying to help this guy out

A bit of assistance on Chinese translation, please
And no, it's not homework or anything (I'm many years past school, lol). Anyhow, for a little work project I need to register for a Chinese-language forum, and though I have some basic ability to read pinyin, the registration requires solving of a short riddle involving characters that I can't figure out.

It can't be solved using babelfish or machine translation, but if anyone here speaks Chinese by any chance and would give me the "answer" (should be 2 characters), it would be much appreciated.

Here's the "riddle"

左边一个“米”字,右边一个“良”字。这个字是?

Thanks in advance.
