It doesn't say correctable, but i mean it was my first ticket so I didn't know exactly what to look for, I mean the cop just told me it was correctable so I just went on my way

Car Info: .
What is the VC he cited you for? Next to that, there should be a box that says "correctable", is it marked or left blank?

if the box is not checked then they just sent you the fine for the violation. just pay the fine and you don't need to change anything on your car.

Especially Cali. They would never admit it, but I'm pretty sure CHP troopers and under "unofficial" orders from the department to cite anyone for anything they can and GET THAT MONEY.

It happened to me too. I got a tint ticket, which is the quintessential fix-it ticket. Window tint is even listed on the courtesy notice as an example of a correctable violation. Yet, on mine it was marked as non correctable. I wish I would have gone to court for it, but it was a different county and I didn't have the time.

Good for you. Good luck!

Yeah, normally they aren't too excited to get down on their hands and knees to peer under cars.

I think one I-Clubber actually went to the state ref, got a decibel reading of his exhaust, and sent it in the mail. After that his citation was cleared without having to pay the fine/bail

Oh, and his was most likely an uncorrectable violation also. So this may work for you as well.

and another think I forgot to mention. I believe you have to send in your state ref results as a part of a written declaration. Just explain in the declaration that you meet the 95db and below requirement, and they should let you off the citation

Update, the officer who cited me just returned my call and she told me from her understanding it was correctable, and she meant to give me a correctable ticket, so i'm going to take it to court and get it taken down to a fixit.

Maybe it was just a clerical error?
