Oh, I still got my *** kicked by Karlton and his dad at SCCA events all the time. I guess I need to learn to drive better, oh wait, may be 06 STi is really that fast! j/k! anyway, with more seat time running UFO events, I know I am improving slowly.

i didnt say it was a good thing
and from what i hear you need to use the warranty more with a evo since the clutches are crap.
any car MFG will void your warranty if they know the car is tracked.. BUT they need to prove that the failure was caused by racing they can not just say that you raced the car.
alot of warranties have the wording in the contract that voids the drivetrain warranty if the car is raced. its just like insurance they wont cover you if you crash while racing on a track unless you have special coverage or they don't findout.

Are you running any caster? I would like to add some caster but don't know how much is safe to add, or how much I can add with the noltec topmounts.
Also, the 04 STi has a different steering rack and front diff, so the wheel response is not as sharp as an 05/06 sti will be.
I still like the STi better then the evo, but I am a subaru *****, I always try to get people to buy them. I convinced my mom to get an 05 forester, and she totally loves it.

Yea, I know about the steering rack. My wife's Tribeca has the same steering rack design as the 05 and 06, so I know how it feel, and I have to admit they are nice! Talk about Subaru ***** haha, we have owned 5 Subarus so far, and most likely will continue buying them! Oh! by the way, there are zero problem amog all our Subarus, except one that has a transmission problem, but that was our fault that ruined it. haha

I said before, I personally like the EVO, the 9 is cool, but the instability of Mits scares me a bit. Also, the fact that the MR is quite a bit more than the STI turned me off a bit as well.
For me, everyday driveability is more important than competence at the track. I have another vehicle for track duties.

Is she trying to win the debate or prove that the STi is better than the EVO? I had a debate class in college where a guy won a debate that used bubble gum is better than new bubble gum just to prove the teacher's point. The guy was one of the star members of the debate team and the other debater was some smack talker from class.
If she's trying to prove the STi is better than the EVO then she's going to have a few problems with that. I would think that the best she could do would be to compare WRC results or something and not look at the USDM models to compare. The only thing that people agree is better on the STi over the EVO is the interior...and even that not so much when you look at an MR with SSL.
Is the best STi/WRX ever better than the best EVO in a straight performance comparison?
