IIRC, yourse were something like 82, 80, 79, 78? the evo does wonders!
Now given I do not have an STi, and we are both diff. weights, diff. driving skill, etc... but I think the numbers do speak a bit for the car.
In track, I think both cars are even.
In auto-x track, an evo will pwn unless the wrx/sti is a really good driver.
In rally, the STi for t3h win!

So I'd say STi > Evo.

EVO v. STI
Hey everyone new to the forum thought Id chime in on this debate
I think the first thing to look at is power Stock the EVO has under 300 whereas
the STI has 300.
The Engine is bigger and has more Torque.
STI 6 Speed tranny EVO 5 speed
Horizontal engine alignment makes for a more balanced AWD system
Not to mention the long history of Subaru Rally Racing's winning tradition
However is this comes out http://www.speedtv.com/_assets/libra.../84297_evo.jpg
or this
http://www.allfastcars.com/wallpaper...-concept.shtml
STI stock will go down unless they come out with this

I found out afterward that my passenger side is running possitive camber cause I was tired as hell and it was dark when I put the struts back together.
The next UFO auto-x is may 7th. My camber plates should be in with -2.0 camber, and a few degrees of caster and possibly some Hancook R-S2 tires.
I think in the end, both Evo and STi are great cars but were designed for different purposes.
The Evo allows us newb drivers to take the car to its limits a lot quicker, and easier.
The STi takes someone who really knows how to drive to take the car to its limits.

All I have to say about that is, quit magazine racing and go out an test drive a new EVO IX. It blows away the current STi in every performance catagory there is. And if you're going to use the "nicer interior of the Subaru" excuse, then go buy a Lexus LS430 if all you care about is nice interiors and luxury. That's all I gotta say.

Yea, I figured.
Vic Sias beat me by 6 seconds! he's 63.xx, now that's quick. Only 4 people broke into 60s Sunday morning, that's Mr. and Mrs. Sias(63.xx, 65.xx), Ben Martinez(66.xx), then me! hehe
but yea, back to the topic. I have my STi since June 2003, and no problem at all, I have never go back to the dealer. However, my brother's Evo had some kind of CEL that keeps coming back and even the dealer did not know what was wrong. They had replaced the ECU, injectors and it still coming back. The fun part is, the problem is a well known issue that many Evos have, and no one know how to fix it. My other friend's Evo has the same issue and he had to get an after market ECU reflash to disable that CEL. So, yea, besides the cheap interior, Evo has some kind of build issue too. Despite all that, it's a fun car to drive, and responds very good to mods.
Oh, one more thing. STi > Evo @autox.

Were you at the last UFO auto-x? There was a white STi there on white wheels that had some mad front camber and placed some good times for it being such a tight corse.
