Need help from my fellow I-clubers
Here is the short of it. I have an 02 Bugeye and need help finding a good used 5 speed. I just waisted $750 for nothing when my car started a ticking noise. Me and some other mechanics all thought it was the throw out bearing so had a new clutch bought and installed. Well come to find out it wasnt the clutch and it was my tranny. So if anyone on here is selling one or knows where I could find one it would really help me out. Thanks for any help you guys can offer

Well since I have a mechanics sence on domestics I thought it was a lifter because that is how it sounded. But my buddy that works on these cars said they dont really ever go bad. So when I pushed the clutch in at a dead stop the noise would go away. So me and my buddy both said it had to be the throw out bearing. So when it came down to doing the install Speed Element even said the same. It was after the install they said they turn the car over and still had the ticking noise. When I got there it was still on the lift so they had me put my hand on the tranny and feel that something was bouncing around in there.

There are also difference in the final drive/ rear diff ratios from 02-05 to 06+. I think the 04+ all use male axles, where the 02-03 use stubs in the tranny with female axles.
