Sounds to me like you got caught "exhibition of speed", I would say pay it, do traffic school to keep it off your record, and be done with it...but I doubt considering your past posts here, that you will listen.

1.53 second stock 60' times, thats well within reason of hitting 75 at 400.

OVERBEAR: If the professional drivers can only get an STi up to 98 mph in a quarter mile then how the hell is my car doing 75 in less that an 1/8 of a mile. I am pretty sure that if I was doing even 75 at an 1/8 mile I could get another 20mph in twice that distance.

you be trollin'

As much as people on i-club don't like Nasioc - they have whole thread where people have attached their time slips....

I'd probably fight it if I were you. For one, you say he claims he didn't use his radar gun (his reasoning doesn't make sense for one) so you could fight his judgement of speed and how he can prove you were going 75, 70 or 65mph. Using his radar gun to determine your speed would be all he would need for a lock tight case. Since he didn't use it he's going to have one hell of a time proving your speed. Also if he had used his radar gun and clearly didn't show you, your case would be thrown out right there. He's required to show you your speed that he captured on his radar gun. Doesn't do that and your case is dismissed. Gotta love the technicalities The other thing that doesn't look good for the officer but great for you is that he wrote on the ticket that you were doing 70mph then crossed it out and wrote 65mph. Definitely doesn't help his judgement when he's writing one speed, crossing it out especially when he originally told you you were going a different speed than both of those.

you can get it thrown out even if radar was captured because there is no way he is going to remember to bring calibration records for the radar. You ask for the records... he doesn't have them... case dismissed.

Also, always have your cell phone recording voice when a LEO pull you over to protect yourself.

Always ask to see the radar speed before you sign the ticket that has radar checked and a speed.

If he BS's you about the radar speed and how the speed doesnt show because of....blah blah blah... then you know he didnt get you. Plus, some radars log and they have to put the log number on the ticket, not confirmed.

sorry for the confusion the officer said that he got me on radar. But on the road there is three huge merge signs in the way plus there was +9 cars in front of him.

I said that "i know he didn't get radar" because of these facts, and the fact that my car cant go that fast.

ticketassassin.com is a great resource

Did he show you the radar that shows you going 75mph?

They do not have to show you unless you ask. And from the description, no.

I asked, he said that they do not have to "lock in" the speed, and therefore couldn't and wouldn't show me the radar.

I'm not sure bringing up the distance is going to help you. I think you can only legally drive in the median <200 feet to merge.

they put in the median for precisely that purpose, its a blind hill that makes merging onto a 55 mph road extremely hazardous. But I will have to look that up.

I would say do everything ticketassassin recommends, then try and push the case to later dates, then do it again till they wont let you anymore.

1. Trial by written declaration....extension...extension...
2. State the facts as you see them.
3. COPS DO NOT HAVE TO SHOW YOU THE RADAR READ OUT!
