Need BAIC's help: collection agency?
So my parents received a bill from a collection agency called North Shore Agency saying that they are a representative of PG&E. They are saying that we owe PG&E money but heres the thing my dad said that he has paid every single month in full with no question. The other thing is that the account that they have listed on the bill is the wrong account number but they do have the correct address for the house in question. Anyone know of anything of this company? Is it a legit company or this some sort of scam? Any help or advice would help before we try to handle this situation.

What does the collection notification specifically say? Does it include a time frame of the "failure to pay"? The best thing to do would be to call them up and ask for as much information as possible. Don't agree to pay for anything yet; get as much info from them as you can.
Usually you won't get much because they are just a debt agency collector, you'd really have to go to PG&E to rescind this notice. Let me know whatsup. I've had a few debt collectors send me a notice or two before, but I took care of those no problem.

yeah after a bit more research it seems like north short agency is just a scam collection agency and it seems like they usually try to dupe you with some sort of magazine subscription

I'd call NSA up and **** around with them, ask them how their day is going and see if they would like to subscribe to things...HAHA.
To get some piece of mind, call up PG&E and ask them about this debt collection notice. That'll let you know what is going on

Wth ya that has to be a scam and usually pg&e have in house collections. The price alone is a give away cus if u go to collections with pg&e its usually in the hundreds. Plus usually comes after you have been shut off for service. I bet they get a bunch of people to pay them cus the cost is low and make bank off of people. I would for sure let pg&e know about it cus they might want to check into that as the collection company is using their name to scam people.
