Need a 3/8-drive torque wrench?

I know some of you have this already (including me), but for those of you who haven't picked one up Harbor Freight dropped the price to $7.49!!! You can't beat that deal.

Nice, I'll probably have to pick one of those up.

Yup, I've been using mine and haven't had any problems with it. Just have to make sure to keep it at it's lowest setting when in storage. For less than $8 it's a damn good deal.

There is a reason why Snap-On, Matco, etc. wrenches are expensive. I'd put mine up against a Harbor Freight one anyday on a torque tester to prove it.

I have been using their ratchets for all my suspensions stuff, exhaust stuff, and fluid chages....etc... I hammer on them all the time and they are still as good as new !!

But their sockets are ............. Let's just say I broke two 19inch impact sockets while installing a set of springs.

Yeah...their torque wrenches may not be the most accurate, but they get the job done.

Not everybody has the money to buy all snap on tools......

Harbor Freight Tools is a great place for cheap throw-away aka "not really a big deal if your friend borrows and doesn't return" tools.

too bad they don't have a location near SF. there was one really close to my place when I was living in Pasadena.

we dont all have a shop full of snap on tools at our disposal, or a deep wallet for tools

For engine building and such where torque specs are crucial, I can see why you would want a high-end unit, for installing brakes and springs, I think the HF will do the trick

yeah as long as its within 10-15% accuracy its all good. just set it a bit higher than usual. i have the 1/2 inch drive one and its worked well.

does anyone know where to send it to have it calibrated?

Thanks Tom. I'm just trying to pass on the deal to those who haven't picked one up yet. It's perfect for relatively minor jobs
