Need 1/8PT (1/8BSPT) tap, local for EGT install
I was hoping to do my Omori EGT gauge install this weekend but i can't find a damn 1/8PT (1/8BSPT) tap anywhere, or a 8.6mm drill bit for that matter. I know i can order them online but i need to get this done this weekend.
Anyone in the Bay Area have one sitting around from their EGT install that i could borrow/buy? Or does anyone know a hardware store or tool shop that would carry these things? I've tried all the usual suspects.. Home Depot, ACE, etc.. no luck.
I'm going to be doing a big how to write up for here and scoobymods like i did for the '04 headlight mod. Any help appreciated.
Thanks!

Sweet. That first link doesn't work but i assume you found the exact part? What did you search for, i can't seem to find it on their site... other than the NPT taps, which are the wrong size. Thanks!

skivvie,
since what you are drilling into isnt too thick (i assume an exhaust manifold???), it doesnt have to be tapered.
or do it the easy way. buy a bung and just drill a regular hole and just weld it on...
if the part is off the vehicle, a competent welding shop should have the tools...

that mod's been sitting on my list of things to do for a few months now... Let me know how well that 1/8 tap fits, and maybe I'll borrow it from you once you are done
Better yet, when and where are you gonna be working on it? Maybe I can tag along, give you a hand, and see how complecated the whole thing is...

I'm going to take plenty of pics and do a step by step how to. I'm going to be doing it at a friends house up in San Rafael sometime this weekend... gotta talk to him and figure out when. You're welcome to borrow it when i'm done., i'm sure you won't be the only one. =]
