Military is a great experience, and literally opened up many doors for me. Its a great way to really grow up and you'll always tell the difference between folks that have been in the military and folks that haven't.

dude i'm in the guard right now, been in for 2 years as a Military Policeman. It might not be like active, but the training is better now then it was back then. It really all depends on what MOS and unit you get into. PM me if you want to talk.
edit: oh and we're deploying early next year, so yes-we do go downrange.

If I could do it all over again I would go ROTC or OCS. My brother was one of the few lucky ones that was enlisted and applied to West Point and actually got in, so it takes a act of god to get in so its a stretch.

Have you ever thought about trying to get a ROTC scholarship? Your already a Junior so pretty close to having a bachelors thats all they want. You have a clean record and no physical ailments? How ROTC works is the Gov pays for your school (and your student loans if you have them) and you owe them service as a commissioned officer for 5 years or so. The pay is leaps and bounds better and so will the jobs when you get out. Being a militray officer is a BIG win on a resume.

I'm also thinking about being a Police officer so someone who said about being a Military Officer for 5 years would be good experience....I know im just a junior but im tired of living the same day everyday and i wont graduate until 2012-13 since im behind in credits.
