the GT3 is the yard stick
Im still a big fan of the 911 turbo though
hard to beat the onslaught of tq once the turbos spool, but the NA response must be awesome in that GT3

Plus it can handle all that power. Sorry, going fast in straight lines doesn't mean jack sh*t as part of the entire driving experience in determining a truly fast car, IMO.

When I saw this thread, I thought Daniel broke his car again. Instead, it was a Porsche GT3 that broke his spirit.

I used to date a sugar mama back in 04, she had a 03 carrera. I got to drive to LA (with her) not very comfortable for long drives and the sound system sucksed but was fun smashing down the 5.
I got to take it out once by myself, I picked up my buddy and we rolled up 17 now that was a rush!

definitely the funnest car I've ever driven.

Last time I checked; the 997 GT3 is a homologated race car with over 50 years of heritage, and the STi is a roided up econobox with merely a portion of the pedigree and 1/3 the sticker price.

Your buddy is a real mensch for letting you jump behind the wheel!

I really hope that's a real bet, because you would lose your "*****" in a hurry.

And since I'm a firm believer that morons shouldn't reproduce, that would be a good thing.

i will go with the GSX as well.... if only in a 1/4 mile race. on the track I dont know, yes that one GSX won the sport compact car ultimate car challenge a few years ago, but ever since that, they are not notable for being track cars, and the rarity of that I will assume the same for your friends setup.

I've rode in a GSX with a full suspension setup, and it was crap compared to stock suspension of an EVO lol

I got a short romp in a friends 996 GT3. Unfortunately, I had no where to really go. I got on the freeway to open it up and while sporty, it felt "heavy-ish". I wasn't going to push it very hard because I was totally unfamiliar with the car.

My conclusion was: the street is so limiting that it was absolutely frustrating to drive a beast and keep it under chains. On the street, I have just as much fun in my WRX. I was dying to get the GT3 on the track though, as what little glimpses I could experiences it was clearly meant for that.

I don't give a crap about image.

You've both missed the point completely.

No one cares how big of a snail you can throw on some POS to go fast in a straight line. This thread was about overall balance and refinement of the driving experience. The GSX with is exactly what this thread isn't about.

The Porshe rotors are very durable, as long as they don't get hit by road debris and chip... seen it happen.

It is an amazing car. Ferrari's are similar in feel, but they are SO comfortable when doing it
