My Japan-HK Trip with Pictures!
Well I'm finally over my jet lag, which is a relief. It's always funky when you wake up with a heavy feeling in your chest due to exhaustion even though you had 8 hours or more that night of sleep!
The trip was fabulous! I want to go back to Japan to explore more, and back to Hong Kong cuz I have so much family there that I'd like to know again.
Some of the things I did:
Japan -
Tsukiji fish market at 6am, seeing the tuna, talking to the people there, and having a sushi breakfast
Tokyo Tower with a clear view of Mt. Fuji
Arriving at the gates of Hama Rikyuu Gardens and then realizing I was supposed to go the next day with some friends
Traveling up the Sumida River by boat
Eating really good sukiyaki in Asakusa
Going to the Ghibli Museum
Shopping in Harajuku and eating crepes with friends
Visiting the Meiji Shrine
Going to Hakone by train and staying the night at a ryokan, thereby experiencing the wonders of mineral spring hot baths
Celebrating at Xen (a sister restaurant of Nobu's) until 2:30am with friends
Hong Kong
Celebrating Chinese New Year with my grandparents and extended family
Celebrating my grandfather's 90th birthday!
Visiting Chi Lin Nunnery and enjoying the quietness
Entering Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple and being attacked by the thick ashy "air" due to tons of people burning incense and Chinese New Year paper
Riding the Victoria Tram that has a 30 degree grade!
Getting to the top of Victoria Peak and seeing Hong Kong at night
Visiting Temple Street and Wongkok
Going to some clubs that I don't remember the name to
Seeing the Big Buddha and eating jai at the Po Lin Monastery
Shopping (clothes, dvds, etc)
Since I'm making this post while once again, at work, everything is abbreviated. For those coming to today's lunch meet in Oakland (see that thread in the "Meetings, Event's & Donuts" section as it has been updated with the location), stories!
The site's not fancy, but I hope you enjoy them!

No pics since I didn't bring them with me to upload at work. sorry! (anyways, I still have to go through them all. 1 gig is a lot!)
As for the hot springs, since I was there Sunday and left Monday morning, I had the baths all to myself. I even accidentally walked into the men's side cuz I wanted to take pics of all the hot spring baths that the ryokan offered. I didn't realize it was the men's side until later when I looked at the kanji on the sign! Good thing no one was there hahahahaha~
Marc, Harajuku is awesome in what it has to offer. I'd love to go back with more money!
