From my experience with a package of turkeyburger my wife "lost" in the trunk of my other car for a week (in summer) and the research I did then:

Don't use anything with perfumes, or any sort of masking scent! At least not more than for the initial cleanup. You will grow to hate that smell as much as the original. No, really. This excludes most normal cleaners.

As others have suggested, enzyme based pet odor remover type products are best. It may well take time (weeks) and multiple applications, but the smell will go away eventually if you use those. Try to find one without a cover scent, I really can't stress that enough.

Zeolite powder may or may not help -- it's supposed to absorb odor, then you vacuum it up. I was never really able to tell if it made a differerence.

i already did all the work trying to get rid of the smell and you dont really smell it unless you put your nose and sniff the seat. I guess the puke got in the foam and spread when i hosed it down with water.
Good thing the back seat is black so you cant see any stain, but i can tell there's a stain because some part of the seat in darker than other parts.

Yeah, that's what the enzymatic cleaners are for -- you soak the area, and they break down the stuff that smells. It's not a cleaner like detergent, it's more like what you use on the stuff you can't get to with normal cleaner.
