What's up everyone I have a 05 wrx and I was wondering if it's ok to run without the resonator for stock air intake. I heard you could gain a little bit more performance without it. If so, is it good or bad for the engine.

yeah, i'm catless and it seems there's not much I can do. Yeah, I'll probably do helix catted dp in the future.

BTW...I can't smell anything in the car...only when I get out and it's running. That's pretty normal I guess

does your friend have a white bugeye with a s203 spoiler? That car is nice!

If so, i dont smell anything from that car either.

OP: Have you been around another wrx and compared the differences in output of fumes? Because i can't smell anything while i'm inside. Only on some occasions when i'm coming to a stop, where i can actually take a sniff of the fumes.

Leave it off if you feel like it. I have driven with dark tinted windows and no front plate for around 8 years here and only now due to the swarms of black and whites I am seeing everywhere combined with all the BS things people are getting sent to the ref for - it's just not worth it. I have argued against the front plate for so long, and here I am saying I put mine back on. I am not going to run without a cat because it doesn't make that much difference (honestly) and is just advertising to a bored cop in a way I don't want to advertise. If you get caught, it may suck. Then again, you might not get caught. The fact that I can smell catless cars when I am behind them leads me to believe that cops can too... So I will keep the kitty.

it's just the stench...I know I run the risk of going to the refs, and I can deal with that. but ugh, I can't have the windows rolled down at a traffic signal some times.
