My car broke, can anyone give me suggestions!
Hi everyone, i own a 02 2.5RS and recently my check engine light came on. When I pulled the code it says knocksensor and I had replaced it and the CEL is still on pulling the same code. As the result of the CEL, the car's responce is lagging and a lack of power when driving. I have a cobb tuning intake and a custome exhaust, but it never pulled a CEL, till now. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience they can pass on to me!. Would the o2 Sensor be the cause? HELP ME!!

Thank you Smurf for the reply, I think that will be my last resort. Does anyone have this experience? I would try to buy a new o2 sensor but like how i replace the knock sensor it just seem to waste my money.

I'm not sure about Subaru's, but I know from some frustrating first-hand experience with Grand Nationals that bad/broken motor mounts can sometimes lead to a false Knock CEL from the motor vibrating around in a way it wasn't inteded. What kind of shape are your motor mounts in?

if you just wanna get rid of the CEL unplug the batt for a minute or so (also compress the brakes to discharge completly)
No more CEL, though if you didn't fix the problem it'll show up again

When the ECU reads knock it instantly retards timing in order to protect your motor from pooping on itself. That explains your cars slow-ness.
If you can somehow read the knock voltage it will help show you if it's a bad sensor or not. If it's showing a constant knock count that usually means that your knock sensor is dead and you need to replace it. If it's knock only on accelerations or certain RPM then you may have a real problem. (it may be fuel related, or, like stated above it could be a motor mount)
A new knock sensor may just do the trick though.

Yes, I am using stock CAT on my car.
also, I've replaced the knock sensor already, but code still came back on after a drive. But while the CEL was off, the car ran fine.
