MPJ-Torque Converters

Does anyone know if they sell performance torque converters? I have been trying to e-mail them and they don't reply.

Sorry for the lack of response, We don't typically stock and sell them but we can get them.

Price installed for a ProTorque unit would be $975.

ProTorque has developed a torque converter for Subaru hot new WRX. The stall is 500-800 above stock, and maintains full lockup capability. Project WRX racer Jorje said, "Originally my automatic was putting out very unimpressive 60ft times of almost 3 seconds. Now with the right launch I'm down to almost 1.8 seconds, as of the time of the modification. Hands down the FIRST thing an automatic owner should do, and absolutely the best bang for the buck. Short of a custom ECM, NOTHING will give you the seat in the pants or 1/4 mile gains of the ProTorque unit.

sounds nice

This is something I definately am going to do. It might take me a while to save up but well worth it. About how long does the installation take? Do I have to send my torque converter in for them to do it or do i get a completely new one?

SuzWRX - We need it for a day and there is no core replacement or anything like that.

I have had this done and it is the best mod you can do for an auto. I can currently launch at 4200rpm, sometimes 4600 if my brakes hold me back. The shifts are quicker. Everything about this mod was good. Daily driving is no different. Just like it was before I had it in. I had it modified by Protorque and installed at MPJ. Don't forget to get a tranny cooler. The one I use is a Holden 403 is the model. It will help proliong the life of the transmission.

will the ProTorque work with a 2002 OBS? their website only has one for WRX legacy and SVX.

bignasty,
you could try asking/calling protorque if they are able to do it for an OBS, because the TC is different. i got my TC modded for my wrx by protorque when they only had the svx listed online.

i got it done by redstar racing before mpj branched off. mpj is a great place to go to.

besides the tranny cooler, getting a full flush and fill of your trasmission is a good idea too
