Moving to San Jose, Need help with choosing right neighborhood

Im moving to san Jose in Sept. and i dont know the area at all, im currently looking at different places to rent, all apartments, i was wondering if you guys can tell me if these neighborhoods are safe, overpriced compared to other good areas in San Jose and are good to live in:

1.
2175 Aborn Rd
San Jose, CA 95121 -1503

2.
4300 The Woods Dr
San Jose, CA 95136 -3830

3.
3730 Moorpark Avenue
San Jose, CA 95117

4.
3900 Moorpark Ave
San Jose, CA 95117 -1806

5.
4555 Thornton Avenue
Fremont, CA 94536 -5641

6.
37200 Paseo Padre Pkwy
Fremont, CA 94536 -2581

Also Im going to be working all over the south bay area so being close to work is no issue, thank you for your comments and time!

I wouldn't live on or around Aborn. I've got two friends that live at the Woods and they are okay, nice, clean. One of my friends has two little girls and he and his family like it there. Moorepark area is okay depending on the the home/apt, its mostly a clean safe area.

That side of Aborn isn't that bad.

Woods neighborhood is nice.

Which address is closest to your work?

Check out www.strongneighborhoods.org to see which areas the City is putting money into redeveloping. Generally, those neighborhoods require more service calls from the police. I would stay away from the Aborn Rd. location, not because of crime, but more because of the traffic problems in that area. Sometimes, it takes longer to get on the freeway than it is to travel your distance on the freeway. The locations on Moorpark are pretty good. Parking there can be an issue, depending on the complex. Also, they are right across the street from a major freeway, so if you can put up with road noise, then it may not be for you.

I can only assume that your office may be in Downtown, so living west of there would give you a good commute against traffic. Depending on what your budget is, there are some really good complexes in Campbell for just a little bit more money. The commute to Downtown is regularly less than 15 minutes.

Anyway, welcome to the area. You will like it here.

i'm right around aborn and the area isn't bad at all. My bros gf lives in the san marino apts (if thats the ones you're looking at) and its not bad. Not as new as the woods but the area is nicer. I would stay away from the woods because some parts of it is pretty ghetto. My friend had his prelude stolen twice while he stayed there.

east side is just BAD!! hahaha if you happen to park your car on the side of one of the main road then prepare for some theives... but other then that i live in the evergreen area off of aborn and ruby and its pretty nice around that area. cept once in a while there are cops trying to set up speed traps here n there but that shouldnt be a problem if you follow the speed limit.
