Do you think they are using mercury vapor in the headlights. It burns pretty bright, think stadium lights. I know that San Jose was originally gonna have mercury vapor lights in the street lights but instead they used sodium-benzoate becasue of complaints from the Lick Observatory about light pollution, at least that's what I was told in my astronmy class.
