The STis are the same but the WRX got wider from MY08. They do have 09 10 but like you've experienced they don't pop up as much as the 08 or the 11s they are trying to get rid of. I have seen them on craigslist from time to time though.

11s probably look wider due to the front bumper changes over the 08-10s.
there was a thread on iwsti where some joker claimed his 11 fender flares were bigger, iirc dimensions were produced to show they are all identical, some people took it way too seriously...

Thanks guys for all the input! Any reason as to why the 08 and 11 sti's are the usual ones for sale? Problems? Etc?

But that's for the wrx. I'm referring to the sti only.

The '08 is notorious for the bad stock tune and cracked ringlands. '09+ they fixed the tune but there are still some reports of cracked ringlands.

I have no clue about the '11s though.

probably the ringland issues present more than likely in the 07-08 years?

It has been 4 years since the '08 came out. There are many people that get rid cars that quickly. IIRC, the 08 STI does have crappy stock tuning. Don't forget the '11 model is still the new model.

Not really. The ringland failure happens for the same reason for all of them.

I'm sure there are certain signs that may point to it, but I don't know them. I'm N/A and don't pay attention to turbo problems. The best way to really know, unfortunately, is to take the motor apart
