It was a matter of time... Jumped by an EVO
Well, it was just a matter of time. Family and I were headed off to Hayward to pickup my wife's car from GBMotosports. As we pass Westborough exit, I look up and see a Yellow EVO coming strong through traffic in my rear view. As we approach that tight turn to 380, the car is two back and as we enter 380, he's on my a$$.
I start moving over to the right to enter 101S and he gives me a look and whips around me across three lanes. He gets caught behind cars as we enter 101S and starts to weave erratically through traffic. I get in the right hand lane and punch the car to leave this whole BS scene behind us.
First run-in with an EVO. All the other encounters have been friendly and respectful. Doesn't have to be this way, but I guess other's don't share the same philosophy.

That guy was willing to put you, your family, and other drivers at great risk. Street racing is not racing!
Bravo, you steered clear of the Rolling Reckless. :thumbs-up:

I had a similar experience today with a first gen. M3. It came up strong behind me So I moved to the right, gave him thumbs up (because i still love those box fenders) He backed off 7 we both rolled along real peacefull like. i normally would have down shifted & blew him away, this was at least as satisfying. Maturity Rules!

First off, my windows are tinted and you really can't see into the back windows in the car so to the driver's defense, I'm sure he couldn't tell whether my wife and daughter in my car. I can only hope if he did, he wouldn't pull that BS.
That leads me to only believe that he just saw the WRX and came after me. Looking in my rear view mirror, I could sense what was coming. In fact, I told my wife and daughter, "Honey, looks like we're gonna get jumped by our first EVO."
When I first got my car, as many of you would personally attest, a lot of the Honda drivers would jump us on the road. But after some personal lessons and write ups that the car got, they backed off. Then the WRX's graduated to the European cars... Porsches, BMW's, Audis, etc.
Maybe it was a little too much to hope that two import cars with a rally legacy could show a little mutual respect. I guess it's true what they say, "It's nothing about the car but the idiot behind the steering wheel."
Personally, I give our EVO cousins, props whenever I come across them.

you dont wanna be doing that. that would be illegal and could cause you a lot of headaches (an butt aches if you get to prison...)
plus, a .45 would penetrate too much. a .40 cal FMJ is enough... [insert evil smiley]
