Man, its amazing how stupid some of us were when we were younger

All joking aside, reflecting on the past, I've done some really stupid and dangerous things, one of the stupidest things I've done was about 8 or 9years ago... basically I would race my car up Mt Hamilton with a few friends (not really racing each other, more of a time trail to see who could get the fastest time from the bottom to the top, we'd have a stop watch and someone at the top to confirm).. I was in my RS when it was at its peak, I had my suspension done to my liking, perfectly tuned, some little HP dealies, but HP doesn't matter on that road (well, to a point). Man, the speeds we'd get to.... the crazy close calls... Some of the cliffs near the top are 500 feet sheer cliffs with no trees or anything... You can just imagine what could have happened...

Scares the hell out of me now but I'd still like to do it again (in a safer way)

My fastest time was 23 I believe... Christian did it in his M3 in 22!

Keep in mind the road is 21miles long and very technical.

I'd go through tires every 6 months, and I MILKED them for all they were worth... Thats when price of gas was like $2.29 a gallon of premium.

So what stupid things did you do, be it once or a hobby like mine.

Ah killing tires. Those were the days.

Admit it... if gas was cheaper you'd still be doing it.

When I was going to SJSU we climbed up the outside of MacQuarrie (sp?) Hall to get to the roof. That was pretty dumb since we were high.

i'll do it with you, but if its 21 miles long, that means your avg. speed had to have been 55 mph to get a time of 22 minutes right?

So to do those 20 mph hairpins, that means youd have to hit 80mph a few times?

well say it was a 22 mile road in 22 minutes, that means his avg speed is 60...some turns are 30 mph turn, so for every time you drop down to 30mph, you have to go 90mph to make up for that to stay on your 60mph avg speed target.

Bah... I've hit over 100 in some spots... it's more about how much you carry in those tight turns.

my coworker from Lebannon said when he was a kid in the 80's they'd dare eachother to go and disarm landmines.

lol I think that beats any of the stupid things we've done by a mile.

well ive got a good story..
i used to be a HUGE pyro when i was a lil kid..

i was prolly about 8 or so. got an empty glass salsa jar and poured some oil and gas into it. so my friend and i were out in the backyard on a sidewalk (about 3 feet wide) thats between our garage and shed.

well be lit that SOB and just stood there watching it burn. after a few minutes we decide its time to put it out before my parents come out.

took a bucket of water and poured in onto the jar... well being the genious little kid i was, i didnt think that the gas and oil would surface onto the water... so now we had a big flowing firey puddle!

flames started running up the side of the shed and we both almost **** our pants. i ran over and got the hose and sprayed down the shed as my friend threw dirt onto the puddle. after it was all said and done there were big burn marks along the side of the shed. so i decided to take mud and spread it along the side of the shed (hoping to cover it up)

needless to say my parents never found out but thinking back, that could have sent up the whole house in flames
