+1...no problems with my mcgards. 7 years, 3 sets of tires and countless rotations. I better knock on wood.....

The McGards I have now are really nice. Only qualm is they have 2 wheel locks. So one key works for 4 lugs, the other key opens up the other 16(splinedrive.)

Thanks for the info, Mike. I guess I'll have to pick up a breaker bar that can fit the hole of the wheels then, if I pick up a set of Blox.

So are the keys pretty beefy? Like, OEM wheel lock key beefy? Thanks.

I also Recommend McGard Spline. Just what you are looking for. Not too fancy and trouble free.

define beefy? I don't have anything to compare it to, but like others have said, no problems here with the McGards either. I have the black colored ones and have been through 4 sets of tires and couple wheel rotations as well.

The one with the lock (one on each wheel) is pretty much break-proof.

As for the other spline drive lock, I could see it break if overly abused, but like I said, I've been through quite the tire change at Wheel Works and haven't had them break. Here's a pic of it:

If you misplace the key u can always order another one.

I'm looking for this (as stated in OP):

Specifically, I'm looking for a set of lug nuts that will sit well in a set of Rota Tarmac II's and that has a socket adapter that's thicker/made of heavier gauge metal. The lug nuts don't have to particularly lightweight or pretty looking, just stress-free, functional, and affordable and preferably ready for pickup in the Bay Area.

Key looks beefy, socket adapter looks... OK.

Maybe I'll post a pic of the broken Motegi socket adapter that I am now the proud owner of.

I have a bag of over 30 spline drive lugs I'm not using ( Audi's use bolts ) and they come with a key. I won't even charge you for them. Lemme see where I stored them at.....
