So are the keys pretty beefy? Like, OEM wheel lock key beefy? Thanks.

The one with the lock (one on each wheel) is pretty much break-proof.
As for the other spline drive lock, I could see it break if overly abused, but like I said, I've been through quite the tire change at Wheel Works and haven't had them break. Here's a pic of it:
If you misplace the key u can always order another one.

Anyway, the key question is, does anyone have any advice or recommendations regarding an affordable set of lug nuts that are relatively "worry-free"? Specifically, I'm looking for a set of lug nuts that will sit well in a set of Rota Tarmac II's and that has a socket adapter that's thicker/made of heavier gauge metal. The lug nuts don't have to particularly lightweight or pretty looking, just stress-free, functional, and affordable and preferably ready for pickup in the Bay Area.
define beefy? I don't have anything to compare it to, but like others have said, no problems here with the McGards either. I have the black colored ones and have been through 4 sets of tires and couple wheel rotations as well.

Maybe I'll post a pic of the broken Motegi socket adapter that I am now the proud owner of.
