Why on earth would someone buy a GTR to use it for drag racing?

I liked drag racing back when I was like 17, but grew out of it once I discovered twisties! But yeah, why not get a Z06 Corvette if he's going to drag race people? Perhaps super charge the vette... Now he's paying the price!

EDIT: Damn DTM, you're at 136 posts already? This place is addicting eh?

Maybe these are those cars that were abused at the drag strip by the dealer... anyone heck for matching vins yet? We all know nissan has seen those vids.. I bet those new owners are unaware that they are driving a car with a big internet void sticker on it.

nope, I hate elitest as well.

That and a bunch of people who can't drive driving cars that drive for them.

That, and I don't like what the R35 stands for. The previous cars are much better for a guy like me, and I can't stand the crowd that feels the R35 is the end all greatest car ever made blah blah blah...

The R34 had it's perks. Looked like an angry refrigerator and all kinds of cool gadgets and trick AWD system. The R33 was kind of the tweener model where it wasn't as light as the R32 and didn't look as cool as the R32 or R34.

I'm a big fat R34 fanboy and would take an R34 over an R35 anyday (If someone was giving me the choice and I could have one of them for free and couldn't ever sell it).

Never was a really big fan of the R32 but really liked the R33... But the R34... still to this day one of my all time fav cars. The R35 might outperform it and could probably mow your lawn, but like the GC8, the R34 will always be my fav GTR.

However, I'd still take a new GTR ANY day of the week! I'm a big porsche fan boy, and I'd take the GTR over any porsche under the Porsche turbo. If it came down to the GTR and a 997 Porsche turbo, I'd take the Porsche turbo... it edges out the new GTR by just a little bit and its a personal preference thing.

Yeah, I look at the R32 as the UZI of the car world, very basic without anything you don't need, reliable.

The R34 for me was like an M1A Scout. Heavier, heavier duty, lots of power, very precise, and mean as hell in the looks dept. For those of that don't know what rifle I'm talking about.

I don't know what to compare the R35 as... It's very big, sensitive,

Perhaps a .50 BMG heavy rifle

hahah... I always compare everything in terms of guns.

i say its bull**** even if the owners manual tells u not to turn off VDC, they advertise it the way they want to, and they advertised the beast, so what they are saying is that u can't use it the way they advertised it to be used..

such a lie

if the contract and manual says you must not turn off VDC during driving and only for emergency reasons, and you KNOW they have a black boxes on these cars, you cannot say "I didn't know..." cause it's right there, for every owner or potential owner to read.

It's called responsibility, on the owners parts.

Dan,

The situation with Mazda is different. They advertised it up and down as a streetable race car, and that's different from Nissan. I haven't even seen a commerical or bill board about the car. Car magazine are independant, and won't hold up in court. Nissan themselves have documentation in the car, at the time of buying and online about not turning VDC off while usual driving.
