You could use it since this kit bolts up to the stock manifold location but aftermarket manifolds change the powerband up higher. When i added it to my current setup along with the fmic there was an increase in lag, i don't get full boost till 4k (vf30) I'm planning just to port match the stock headers and hope to get some decent spool up with this big turbo.

You sure about that? the old gt30r that was on mike's car would get full boost before 4k.. with a header. I get full boost around 3400 with a vf34 and headers...

a 30 shouldn't be much higher... perhaps something else is lagging you down...

I think i'm still going to go with port matched stock headers. I used to get full boost on stock tmic and stock header around 3500. Once i put these parts on it went up to what im at now. This is third gear stock gearing, not a 6speed with shorter ratios.

I used to get full boost with the non BB turbo on the stock 5sp at 4400rpms, when I switched the center cartridge to a GT30r I also switched the transmission at the same time so I have no concrete info but I would hazard a guess it would spool around 4k ish on the stock 5 speed, shortly after that I would imagine it would break the transmission too.
