Looking for Part # due to Bonehead @ Stevens Creek Subaru Parts Dpt...

I called Stevens creek Subaru because a bulb of mine went out... I have pictures and because I spoke to someone at Steven's Creek (figured it's just a part, not the service problem they've been having) I figured it's the closest and I'd pick up a bulb... however when he told me the bulb was $1.44 I didn't think he knew what he was talking about.

I called Capital and they said it was ~6.00 bux.
The double filament bulb I bought for the left side of the drivers side tail light was ~24.00. Then I realized that I had a couple of burn outs, so I need one more bulb for the right side of the drivers side tail light to finally have normal looking tail lights.

What is the part # to the bulb that is out shown in the picture? And what is the rough cost of the item?

You can probably get just as good advise about lightbulbs (if not better) at a local Kragen rather than Steven's Creek.

That's what I'd do- pull the bulb and take it into Kragen (or Napa) and buy one that matches it.

thanks,
I was expecting a part # a bit bigger and with numbers and letters...

eg 84920FE000 (just an example of what I can give the dealership to look for)

If I spoke to a parts person... would they understand "a 7443 bulb IIRC" ?

Who goes to the dealership for a light bulb replacement??

Are you going to have them charge you $95 for labor to replace it too?

If you walked in to a parts store instead of a stealership, then yes 7443 should get you the part you want.

1. Take out burnt out bulb
2. Read number on burnt out bulb
3. Buy replacement bulb based on number acquired in Step #2

Yes, as in he quoted the wrong part to me, as in he didn't understand my explanation of the bulb.

I did speak to another person who gave me a different quote. So after 2 quotes from 2 dealerships figurin' maybe they know what part they're lookin' at, I decided to ask people on here and show the picture instead and get a more concrete answer. LICMotorsports is the shiz =D

Geez, perhaps it was described wrong the first time?

Or should've known better and just gone to Kragen/Napa/Autozone etc...

It's a bulb, not a strut bolt or MAF sensor...

Why are we the boneheads? That's crazy. Just because our price isn't reflective of another dealer's crazy markups? Interesting. Also, you should hear the crazy descriptions we get and we're supposed to understand. Doesn't make us dumb.

Noah is right, bulbs are cheap and can be had anywhere. No need to come in for that.

Regarding getting better advice at Kragen/Napa... good luck with that.

The # Noah gave is short because it's a bulb number not a Subaru part number. Subaru parts numbers are generally 12345XX678 in structure, true.

Umm, when I ask for a price, I'm asking for the price of what I will be paying for. It's a big difference that one is 1.44 and the other is 6.50 and my first guess is that they're quoting me 2 different parts.

Thanks for the clarification between bulb #'s and part #'s.
