Local places to buy fumoto valve?

Hi all,

Are there any shops in the bay area that sell the fumoto valve? Also, any recommendations on which one works better (with or without nipple)?

Thanks!

i would be sketchy about how reliable it would be. one accidental trigger to open the valve and its over.

Yeah, I have bottomed out numerous times off-road, it would be an accident waiting to happen for me...

Have you used one? I highly doubt it. Have you even done an oil change or even know where the drain plug is located? I don't think so. If you did you would know where it is located on the WRX. It's pretty hidden and you can't trigger teh valve to open even if you bottomed out. Not trying to flame, but just to support the product it's great and it's not that easy to open it got a little grove in it so that it doesn't open. My car is 3" off the ground and I bottom out over any speed bump, and I have never triggered it to open.

you cant trigger the valve people. dont you think mr. fumoto thought of that?

but you can shear it clean off if you hit it just right, which is highly unlikely.

If you shear off your Fumoto valve, you've got bigger problems... namely a sheared off oil pan.

And yes, Roo carries them at the Marin Subaru parts counter.

I have one on my car & I haven't had any problems and it sure makes changing my oil a lot easier. I have a nipple-less valve I am curious to hear what people think of the one with a nipple.

A nippled valve is is set up so you can attach a hose to it to drain oil in tight situations. i did see something on fumoto's website that says nippled valves aren't recommended for vehicles with low ground clearance.
