Local Hydra EMS tuner?

I'm thinking about selling my Cobb AP and going with the Hydra EMS. Who around here can tune Hydra? And for the people who are using it can they give their 2cents on the pros and cons of the ems.

Btw: if anyone is instrested in buying a Cobb AP for a 05 Sti lmk.

I'm pretty handy with the hydra .

What's your setup and why do you feel the need to switch from the stock ECU?

Thanks

What setup do you have that makes you want a Hydra. ?

Just a question as 98% of people are better off with a factory based EM on a Subby, as most factory based systems can support 400+ crank with a good margin of safety.

Depending on how long it takes you to get the project together, you may want to stay with the AP. The next version of ProTuner will allow us to tune in speed density which means no more MAF. It will also allow the use of an upgraded MAP sensor to read boost up to 35psi. These were the main reasons to switch to a standalone in the past. You would, however, have to go with the V2 AP for these new features. I also wouldn't expect this stuff to be available for atleast 4 months. So if this project is happening sooner rather than later, the Hydra is probably the right choice for you.

Thanks

Mike at GST Motorsports is VERY good with the Hydra and has tuned a setup very similar to yours. Give us a call at (510) 264-9049 if you have any questions.

+1 for Ed @ Method 4 Motorsports! I'm running my Hydra EMS tuned by Ed on my not so crazy 8cm FP Green setup and it runs flawlessly.
