I always wondered who would buy these types of driving shoes. I never really bought into the whole driving shoe, not even for track or autocross. They just seemed to extreme and on the same level as using a Sparco suit, I'm just not at that level yet. I find that Converse to be great for pretty much everything! Reading this thread makes me feel like I'm not missing out.

how can you say the soles of pilotis are thick? I think they look thick in the pictures and therefore you guys have decided your point of view.
Anyways I'm not trying to be an arguing ***** but having had pumas and still no shoes as thin as the piloti's I have it makes me laugh. Having skinny bird feet they are also by far the narrowest shoes.
Maybe we should take some measurements or something eh?

The pad on the inside of both my pairs were pretty thick and cushioned. The sole looked to be about 1.5cm thick.
My Adi shoes had about a 1/4" pad and the sole was a cm thick at the forefoot.
My vibrams have even thinner pads, maybe 1/8" thick and the sole is only 6mm-8mm in all. They weigh nothing and completely flexible. Only socks/barefeet are better in feel.
And when it comes to driving shoes, that's all that matters since I'm not a pro at work, where a nomex shoe with ankle support may be needed.
Piloti makes so many casual shoes, and most people wearing them are wearing the casual ones. Like two versions I had.
