Lightweight Battery Info for Bay Area peeps
I posted this in the wrx powerplant section too but I figured I would post it here too in case bay area people where interested.

Hey all, I had a lightweight battery installed a bit ago and I figured I would post the information here for it so people would know.
I bought it from:
http://www.portablepower.com/
Battery:

SAE Posts:

it's $67 + $10 or so for the SAE screw in posts. This is the exact same battery some vendors are selling but with different branding. Alot of places sell these for $150+ but u can get the exact same battery with a different name from portable power for almost half the price.
I had a place custom fabricate the mount because I had to be sure it passed tech for my open-track events. The battery weighs 11lbs. The stock battery weighs 30lbs. That weight difference over the front driver side of the car made a bit of a difference in the way the car handles. I can really feel it at the track. I have had no starting problems, in fact it seems like it starts faster. It might be because it's a dry cell. Keep in mind , stereo wise, all I have is a upgraded deck and aftermarket speakers, no amps or subs. So audiophiles may not apply.

It can also be done much cheaper. You could reuse the stock mounts if u added spacers, etc but I needed to make sure the car passed tech plus I try not to half-*** stuff anymore.
