probably not. Thats the beauty of Rota's, they are strong and cheap.

although a 16x8 rota may be light(they actually arent THAT light, unless youre running a width made for a civic), there arent many tire choices out there for a 245 width in 16". youll find about 6-7 tires max, and trust me...none of them are that great. youd be better off going with 17's for sure, because there are hundreds upon hundreds of different tires choices. as the others have said, SSR's are VERY light wheels. IIRC, they weigh 12.7lbs for a 17x7.5, so if you get a 17x8, it wont be much heavier. i personally owned a set of Volk Racing LE28n's in 17x8 and they weighed between 13-14 lbs. another alternative which is cheaper than the first two is the enkei rpf1's. you can find a set of 17x8 for a little over 1k new, and the wheels are pretty damn light(i installed some 18x10.5 and 18x9.5 on a 350z today and i was amazed at how light the wheels actually were)

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's are very very light tires, and they are by far one of the best tires i have ever driven on. i used them in auto-x and even when they were practically completely warn out, they still gripped amazingly. jeff knows what i mean, because he was with me on my last auto-x with these set of tires. the downside is that these tires are over 200 a pop! maybe theyre cheaper now though...
