Mine just makes a lot of noise because of the 3" catback. I think what I heard was that turbo's act as a sound muffler. Like... a friend and I were helping SkylineR35GTRx install his and we had an opportunity to run his car without his catback, and it wasn't too bad at all.


The problem with mine was that my car, 4EAT, wouldn't lock into gear. So, yeah... they couldn't dyno it. What I heard was that it would downshift, which made it unsafe. But it was okay. It was fun meeting everyone.

3" on an N/A? doesn't that rob it from back pressure? You should be running like 2 1/4" or something. You probably would pull another 8 or so hp out of that thing. My RX-7 was turbo, and a non turbo RX with the same exhaust set up was louder at engine rev, because my turbo acted like a muffler as you say. Once I was able to spool my turbo when driving my RX it was almost as loud.

Haha. No worries. You should see the weight difference between my stock and my CF hood. It is a ton.

yeah, it was supposed to lock into gear, but when Mike fed in the gas, it downshifted. it could have tried to lurch off of the dyno, or worse....

Mike said that some ATs can lock into gear, and some ( newer ones ) cant. mine did, for a 94, so i guess its kinda hit and miss on that issue.....
