Wasn't sure if you mentioned it, but were you within city limits when you had this accidental discharge? How close is the nearest school?

22 bouncy bounce. you're lucky it didn't go somewhere else.
Friend of mine as a kid took a pellet right behind the ear and it damn near killed him. Coma for a few months. like 8 brain surgeries. Left the damn pellet in his skull. Went through his brain and hit the front of his skull.
guns dangerous mmkay. I leave my shot gun unloaded at all times with a handful of shells with it. Doesn't take that long to load and in most cases just the click click is enough to make people run out of the house.
