Try going with a good rotor and pad combination first. Stickier tires also help.

but stopping faster means you gotta defensively drive and be aware of the cars behind you more too.

That accident looked like it was speed/reaction time/tires that were at fault. To the guys talking about upgrading brakes and what not, Im not sure if the extra 5 feet of braking distance would've saved him. There was too much momentum even at the end.

Everyone was on the way to a meet/event, there was an accident/road block up ahead, causing traffic to come to a complete halt. The caravan was traveling at a pretty good rate of speed when everyone had to stop because of the upcoming car problem. Everyone with Brembos and people who were farther ahead in the pack were able to stop in time, but since the caravan was pretty big, people with crappier brakes in the back really had to put them to the test. The story behind this particular dude (who felt really bad, trust me) literally just didn't stop enough in time, nothing more. The brakes didn't fail or anything, it was just that everyone was going too fast and his legacy didn't have enough space to stop.

Still sucks about my friends car, it was super clean and had a ton of work/money in it.

If you look close enough, he hits the STi and heads straight for the RS.

It's good to hear the backstory behind the video. Too bad about your friend's car.

We were doing a drive over 84 from the coast with 16 cars and had almost the same thing happen.

On another caravan, one of our friends got pulled over so the rest of us pulled over too. The cop said "WTF did ALL of you pull over?" "Because we're with him." "You may go now." Dude thought he was going to get shot when the rest of us pulled over too. I don't really caravan anymore either.
