Leaving the North Bay and moving to Pinole...

SO I am leaving my beloved northbay and moving to pinole for about 6 months. Its a temporary move but it has to be done so the wife and I can save $$$ to buy our first house. Hopefully it will only be til April because they just extended the first time home buyer tax credit.

Anyway, I have no idea what part of the bay area Pinole even is, and further I have no idea what kind of subie meets go on over there. Considering I will be living with my in-laws i will be avoiding the house as much as possible.

SO let me know whats up, and what goes on around them parts, I know about the Vallejo starbucks meet and am def down for that, also I am looking forward to meeting some new i-clubbers from around the bay area. Let me knwo whats up...

*wave* BTW it's between Richmond and Vallejo, so you'd prob want to go to a Vallejo meet. Lucky bastard. Enjoy being able to buy and run E85 from the pump over there! Time for an AP v2, fuel upgrades, and an E85 tune Ryan.

you have to be in contract by april 30th, but you have 60 days to close after that and still qualify for the tax credit.

and I guess imma live in "new" pinole my wife tells me. i dont know whats different than that and "old" pinole

whats the car situation there? should i be worried about break ins, or stolen wheels or anything liek that? i wont be able to park my car in the garage as my father in law has all of his junk in there with no where to put a car...

pry gonna end up buying a better car alarm i think

I work in Pinole a lot, its a nice area. The surrounding areas (Richmond and San Pablo specifically) are **** holes, but its a pocket of nice stuff. Pinole has pretty much everything convenient. On the main strip (Fitzgerald) There's a target, best buy, like 20 different popular food places.

As far as the subie community goes, there's not many subarus around, I know there's about 10, and only 3-4 are on here. There aren't any meets in the general area, closest is the Vallejo starbucks one which I don't make it out to because I live 20 minutes from pinole and its an extra 30 minutes up hill. Union City is only 30 mins from me so I go that route.

It depends on what she means by new pinole or old pinole. The parts of pinole that are bordering Richmond, you have to worry a bit more. If its up the hill down Pinole Valley Road, its a really safe area. If it's down toward San Pablo Avenue and Appian its borderline. Basically the farther north and the farther east the safer.

If I parked outside Id use the auto lock, like code3suby said its not bad but the surrounding areas can be.

I'd say Milpitas is a lot worse. It's more crowded and has zero to offer. Pinole you are at least by cool stuff, milpitas you are by SJ which we all know sucks. Tons of nice landscape, instead of a massive trash dump. The southbay is a true anus.

Pinole is waaay more of a sleepy little town than Milpitas, PLUS it doesn't smell like *** all the time.

Mom lives in Hercules, I live in the ****hole "surrounding areas" that Code3Suby mentioned. Haha.

x2 on what gotrice? said about the cops, but just try to keep a low profile. The ghetto idiots with their super subwoofers and scrapers on 22" rims will take most of the cops' attention. ricers like to try and bait you into speed contests on 80, but I just ignore em.
