Safely, came back home at midnight from work. I work in Oakland.

Protesting is OK as long as it's peaceful. But those looters need to be in jail. They have no respect for others. Accept the verdict and move on.

I heard the sad part about the looters is that most of them don't even live in Oakland. They went there for the action.

Not that it will happen but I wish footlocker would take all of those pictures and video that was taken and hire a PI and prosecute as many of those pieces of **** they could identify.

All those retards we doing tonight was looking for a reason to destroy ****.

Like hollondaze and the news said 75% of the retards there aren't even from oaktown.

A crowd gathers at 14th and Broadway near the Far East National Bank, one of several businesses damaged in the riots. The Chronicle reports that a group stormed the bank, wreaked havoc inside and spray painted "Riot for Oscar" on the wall. (Video via SF Weekly) Warning: Graphic language

Perhaps the most dramatic and widely-covered business casualty of the night was the Foot Locker on Broadway near 14th Street. A crowd of bystanders and media watched as protesters ran through the store grabbing merchandise.

According to the Daily Californian, looters tossed clothes and shoes into the crowd. CBS5 reporter Joe Vazquez talked to one smiling young man who brandished a new pair of sneakers (4:40). The video below also shows paper being set on fire -- and someone stomping it out (3:34).

Pyros moved on to bigger targets: dumpsters.

A masked man is seen busting the glass door and windows of the Sears. Seconds later, a woman reaches through the broken window of a bedding display and snatches a blanket and decorative pillows.

In the end, more than a dozen businesses were targeted: Subway, Foot Locker, Sears, Far East National Bank, Rite-Aid drugstore, Luka's Taproom, Ozumo Japanese, Oaksterdam University, Oakland Coin and Jewelry Exchange, Whole Foods, Grace Beauty Supply, JC Jewelry, the Acura dealership showroom, Wells Fargo, California Bank and Trust, US Bank and Bank of the West

I guess "few suburban kids got[sic] spooked" so scared they trashed the city.

most of the rioters were the professional protesters from berkeley who protest so they can get arrested and try to claim police brutality
