I dunno man but that approach wouldnt work in Oakland or San Jose. Also if your crime data is already at its peak, then its going to likely hit a valley here and there.

Did you by chance read that article or any other in relation to it? The police department ramped up efforts in certain areas because they had a couple terrible years. More pressure... less crime. They're doing the same thing here in Salinas. Despite budget cuts and an inability to hire more officers they have put more attention on certain crimes... i.e. they just did a child **** sweep and arrested 5 people. Without law enforcement would those sick ****s still be molesting kids/filming it/selling it? Without the threat of law enforcement and repercussions would these people have done worse?

If you didn't have in the back of your head... I might get a ticket if I keep driving this fast... wouldn't you drive fast? I can tell you that if there was no threat of a ticket or any legal kick back I'd drive 100mph everywhere I went.

You look at one stat to try to defend a clear bias against law enforcement and you call me a sheep. That's ****ing comedy.

exactly.

not to mention, it's a partial year. Violent crime goes in waves. We had a report like this in salinas last year or the year before... homicides and violent crime well below last year blah blah blah. Pretty much every day for the next 6 weeks I read about something in the paper and our numbers were right back up where they usually are. Or close to it.

It's a law of averages. Gang bangers don't go out and say... O.k. So we get to kill 68 people this year. That's one every 5 or so days... we haven't shot one in 4 so I guess we better figure out who we're shooting tomorrow.

Do yourself a favor... Huntington Beach Peer and the strand are your friends. Live as close to the strand as humanly possible.

I used to live down south. Redondo was my favorite.

Yeah if you're working in the OC you want to live pretty close to where you're working. It is cheaper to live in the valley or whatever but you'll have to deal with 20 freeways and flux commute times... meaning one day 30 minutes one day 2 hours.

I like pasadena. I live in San Dimas for a minute. It was alright.

But yeah... next time you drive down there go to the pier.

Orange is a pretty affordable if not somewhat boring town, no real reason not to live there if you're working there (although some parts of town aren't super snazzy). If you do live a town over, make sure you can get to work either 1.) via high-speed surface streets (so you can avoid highway traffic), or 2.) going in the opposite direction of gridlock (there are certain freeways that jam up in only one direction during rush hour).
