Thanks go to CupertinoSteve for his efforts at organizing and promoting Vishnu Dyno Day. There were at least two dozen WRXs that made it to the shop. I think others who attended will agree that it was a lot of fun and educational at the same time. I had my fill of donuts and pizza, too!

I had a dyno tune and an EcuTek re-flash performed on my MY02. I'm pleased with the results. Shiv tweaked the maps over many dyno pulls and my car now accelerates very smoothly, with no noticeable flat spots in the much improved torque curve. Shiv test drove each car after tuning and re-flash. I probably should have told Shiv that it was okay to push my car a little bit, as I think he was holding back. I decided to let my brakes cool down before hitting the road to get home.

Met a lot of cool fellow Subaru enthusiasts and am looking forward to the next event at Vishnu.

NOTE: I wonder what time Shiv and company finally got done with everyone? I left at 5:30pm and there were still about five cars waiting for their turn on the rollers...

Yeah, right....I saw the look on your face when you came back after Shiv took your freshly ECUTEK-tuned WRX for a "hot lap!" I see the same look on petrified deers in my headlights! j/k

I am really tempted to scrape up some $$$ and get a reflash, but I'm still jobless and I'd probably lose the GReddy lip on my WRX while driving up Shiv's shop driveway & dyno. I almost lost my lunch, while watching Subydude's STi lip BARELY clear the driveway (swear by less than 1/2 inch)!!!

Anyways, congrats on your #'s, BobbyD. I think your car managed to crank out the highest gain after getting reflashed, right?---~33 whp?!!!! That's really amazing for a ECUTEK tune & "just" downpipe & exhaust!?

Peace

CL

It's 11:30am and I just woke up

Hi guys,

The night went on until nearly 1AM!! I guess flashing and tuning nearly 10 cars on top of 10 or so other baseline dyno pulls (~20 cars in all) proved to be a bit much for one day But I'm glad everything seemed to work out. We had some pretty impressive gains yesterday-- especially on SubZero cars. Some of which ended up making around 190-195 wheel hp. With some of them baselining around 150 wheel hp, that's a massive improvement if I do say so myself The last Stage Zero care made a very torquey 205 wheel hp. All Stage One cars, with the exception of one, made just under 220 wheel hp. Also, after baselining so many stock WRXs yesterday, it became appearant what kind of variance there is. IIRC, the stockers dyno'd anywhere between 148 and 165 wheel hp!

It was GREAT having all you guys over. At one point, I think I counted 30 WRXs in the parking lot. I had a very fun time hanging out with you guys and we'd like to thank you for all your patience and consideration in light of on how long it took to tune all the cars. I'm also happy that no one puked on the hot laps

We hope to hold such events with reasonable frequency although, next time, we'll try to bit off a little less

Cheers to all,
Shiv, Brett and Ken (aka Sindicate)

On our dyno, that's more like 300hp.

Cheers,
